Official Statement in Response to 4th Appeal of Putney Housing Development

On the heels of the latest ruling by Vermont Superior Court rejecting their 3rd appeal, opponents of WWHT’s proposed affordable housing community on Alice Holway Drive in Putney have filed a 4th appeal.  In response, WWHT’s Executive Director Elizabeth Bridgewater has issued the following statement:

We strongly condemn criminal activity, including drug trafficking, on all our properties and take every step available to us to prevent this activity and to respond quickly when it does occur.  We were in communication with the Brattleboro Police Department leading up to the scheduled action on March 15th and are grateful to them for taking the steps of enforcement to disrupt the activity in these units. The safety and security of our residents is our top priority, and we will continue to work closely Groundworks on-site support and with local law enforcement to take the necessary measures...

VERMONT SUPERIOR COURT DENIES LATEST CHALLENGE TO PUTNEY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT

Putney, VT – The Vermont Superior Court Environmental Division has once again rejected an appeal by opponents of the proposed housing community on Alice Holway Drive in Putney. The ruling by Superior Court Judge Thomas S. Keep your 4-legged friends safe and up to date!𝙍𝙀𝙈𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍 — The Brattleboro Police Department is holding a Rabies Clinic this upcoming Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Brattleboro Police Station (62 Black Mountain Road, Brattleboro, VT 05301). Registration is not required for this event. This event is open for Brattleboro residents and non-Brattleboro residents.

In addition to the rabies clinic, there will be a variety of services available, including —

🐶 Rabies Clinic: The rabies clinic is for cats and dogs. The rabies vaccine costs $15 per animal and will be a cash-only service. The rabies vaccine will be the only vaccine available during this clinic.

🐾 Dog Licensing: The Town Clerk’s Office will be offering 2024 dog licenses for Brattleboro residents. The cost for a license is $19 for dogs that are spayed or neutered; $23 for dogs that are unspayed or unneutered. This service will be cash or check only. More info on licensing: brattleboro.gov/dog-licensing

🐱 Microchipping: The Windham County Humane Society will be offering microchipping for cats and dogs. The cost is $25, and this service is cash only.

🚒 Firetruck & Ambulance Tours: The Brattleboro Fire Department will have a firetruck and ambulance on-site during the clinic.

👶 Child Safety Seat Installations: Certified car seat installation technicians will be available to install a child safety seat or ensure that your seat has been installed properly. This is a new service of the Brattleboro PD. If you are unable to attend this event, you can call 802-257-7946 to schedule an appointment with a car seat installation tech.
