Smart Start to Homeownership

If you’re ready for homeownership, get a Smart Start with our homebuyer workshops and one-on-one individual advice.

Classes alternate between Springfield and Brattleboro and are offered monthly. Click here for the upcoming workshop schedule and to enroll.

We also offer an online class through eHome America for those that who need to complete the class more immediately or who prefer online learning. Click here for eHome America registration.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Homebuyer education:  This is the foundation of the program.  Whether you attend a traditional class or enroll online you will learn, step by step, the entire process of purchasing a home and learn how to make smart decisions along the way.

One-on-One Sessions:  This is  where you really get into the nuts and bolts of your unique situation.  Our housing experts will review your household budget, help you determine what price home you can afford, help you better understand your credit score and credit history, and, if necessary, help you make repairs to your credit report.  In addition, you will learn about available homebuyer assistance programs that will enhance affordability as well as what mortgage product best fit your needs.

The Smart Start to Homeownership is a comprehensive program designed to help you realize your dream of homeownership.  The cost of the program is $65.00 if you attend the class in-person and $99.00 if you enroll in the eHome America option.  If you have questions, contact Darlene Kelly at 802-246-2127 or via email at dkelly@w-wht.org.
