Homeownership Community Outreach Specialist – AmeriCorps

The goal of the Community Outreach Specialist will be to increase and improve upon the services offered in 3 categories: home repair program, financial literacy, Shared Equity homeowner services. Based in the Brattleboro office, this position will be instrumental in designing and implementing outreach and community engagement efforts for our service area.

There will be particular emphasis on providing outreach services to the home repair program as it expands into new counties in late 2017 and into 2018. The Outreach Specialist will be instrumental in strengthening and coordinating WWHT’s inquiry and intake processes by working with the WWHT Customer Service Coordinator.

Position begins September 11th, 2017 and ends August 10th, 2018.

This position is Full Time: Requires 1,700 hours and serves approximately 40 hours per week for 11 months. Member will receive a living allowance of $17,850 (pre-tax), and an education award of $5,815 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Other benefits include health insurance, federal school loan forbearance, and various training opportunities.

Property Maintenance Mechanic

WWHT is looking for an experienced, motivated individual who can work well in a team setting as well as autonomously.  The right candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of home maintenance/repair and apartment turnover procedures and will possess the ability to communicate well with tenants and management staff.

Basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical HVAC and grounds maintenance skills are a must.  Valid driver’s license and a pickup truck or equivalent and basic home repair tools are essential.

Candidates will possess strong administration, relational and communication skills. This position requires high energy and an organized and proactive employee who is a quick learner committed to ongoing education and skill development.  Supervisory and leadership skills a plus.
